The 7th Meeting in France.
Impressions by Latvian team.
From the 28th November till 2nd December we
participated in Project Meeting in France with our school principle Jeļena Vucēna,
project coordinator Tatjana Revina and History teacher Natalia Dektereva.
During the meeting we
participated in several workshops led by French specialists in the field of
entrepreneurship. For example, Laura Cooper, a Startup president, presented some
marketing strategies. We discussed how to start a business in the EU, what are
the risks and innovative ideas.
Then, Philippe Leborgne, an innovative entrepreneur
in Sustainable development, talked about
Urban Farms. It was something new for us. Also, we shared our ideas and
experience about Urban Farming and allotment gardens in Latvia.
On Wednesday we had a meeting and
Creative writing workshop with Savita Kalhan, a British Writer. First, the
writer told us about her life and career, how she chooses the topics for her
books. We touched upon some other
youth’s problems and issues. Then we worked in international groups and
discussed the story “The Death of the Princess” which we had read previously.
Cultural visits were the most
exciting and deepened our knowledge in history.
A visit to Louvre, Versailles
and Eiffel Tower brought me the greatest delight.
A guided tour to Notre- Dane
Cathedral caused reflections on history and life values.
All project activities were held in English,
which gave an opportunity for us to improve our English skills, get rid of
"language barriers".
During the visit, the project
participants also got acquainted with the experience of European integration.
However, the funniest event
was a student party. We talked and danced together, ate meals prepared by
French parents.
All in all, participation in
this seminar widened our horizons and developed communication skills and set a good
example of social integration and tolerance.
We are very thankful to Ines,
Khadija, Thomas, Kiara and their parents for providing such a warm welcome for
us. The memories of this trip will stay with us forever!
Arturs, Normunds, Ineta and Polina.
