The 8th Meeting In Lithuania

 (19th – 25th February 2017)

   We did another wonderful meeting as 8 countries. This time, we were in LITHUANIA for the eighth meeting of FLwICT project. The purpose was to create students' video presenting themselves (questions ans answers) The video interview included various things connected with their leisure activities , school life or hobbies.We must say that it was really nice meeting for the participant students and teachers.

 First day of the meeting, the students and teachers of VELZYS GYMNASIUM school welcomed us nicely. Firstly, we actualized the official opening session. After the official opening session, the school folk dance group Kupolele performed a folk dance . We watched video presentation-Velzys Gymnasium It was wonderful. I would like to thank to all these performances. Later, the students from each country showed their videos about their leisure activities, school life or unusual hobbies., we had short tour around  the school with teachers.  We loved the school.

     At the workshop time, the students worked with their own international group. They created 3-5 min. presenting themselves. They learned so many things about other participant countries students’ leisure  activities. After the workshop at the school. Students left school with their hosts. The teachers and the students had welcome party at the school. it was really wonderful. We thank a lot about this lovely hostibility.  

     On Tuesday the first lesson was for students. Then the students performed a short story competition. Students were devided into 8 international groups and each group was given 5 key words related to our project. project group. The groups made their own short stories using the key words within a limited time, and they acted in their own story. This performance was evaluated by teachers.

    We had cultural visit to Anykscıa and to ‘The Treetop Walking Path’ (the largest stone in Lithuania).

 We visited Horse Museum some students rode horses so they had agreat fun there .Then we had an educational program (Everyday Bread ) It named as Kasdiene Duonele.

      On Wednesday, the students had the first lesson at school.  There was debate performance as part I and  II. The students left the school with their hosts and went to bowling. Theachers visited The Biggest Department Store ‘RYO IN PANEVEZYS.

On Thursday We left our Hotel Romantic , we had a tour to TRAKIA OLD TOWN AND CASTLES it was wonderful then we had the educational Kibinai Baking Program.

                    

 

     We  arrived then to The Capital of Lithuania. We visited (The Vilnius Cathedral, Pilies Street, Bernardinai Garden.)

    On Friday There were showing video-interview about each international group ( 5 min.) Then the debate winners’ ceremony took it place. We thank a lot to Rimtas Baltusis-School director and to Jurgita Kuprinskiene- project coordinator in Lithuania. And, I would love to thank to my dear friend Jurgita and  to all project team for their supports.

We arrived in Lithuania full of fears and we left sad because we left behind friends ...

Thankfully Epralima gave me this opportunity ... I got to know new cultures and made new friends ... especially Joré and Thomas, who have always been there, always trying hard to make it an unforgettable week. It cost me immense to leave them behind ... they are already like brothers to me

I also thank in particular our teachers Irene Dantas and Serginho, who helped us a lot, taught us and created good moments ...

This experience was an excellent opportunity for everyone to improve social and language skills.

The activities were very interesting and dynamic!

Our student, Leandro Pinto,  won the third place for Best Speaker about a debate on ICT at School.

In the creation and dramatization of a text, Leandro Pinto once more was distinguished, this time with the title of Most Outgoing Student, while Bruna Cerqueira received the distinction of "Star Performer" for her brilliant performance on stage.

We had an extraordinary week in Lithuania. Thank you to the Lithuanian staff for providing us with such a pleaseant and warm week and host families for taking such good care of our students.

8TH PROJECT MEETING IN LITHUANIA

Our project teams met again, this time in a wintry Lithuania. Yet, we didn’t feel cold, our friends’ warm hearts made our stay pleasant and unforgettable. Here is the record of this stay:

Each of us agrees: it was an amazing experience!

During the meeting in Lithuania we had a very busy and interesting program. We had some technical sessions at school during which we planned the schedule for the next project meeting in Turkey. We also discussed details about the final meeting in Spain.

We visited the school and both students and teachers from partner countries had a chance to attend some lessons with the Lithuanian students based on a plan our hosts prepared. Apart from this, our students were involved in an educational activity in which they played roles in a performance totally designed and acted by themselves. They practised English in context and had a tremendous fun with their peers from abroad. They also took part in an interesting debate over the advantages and disadvantages of using the Internet and ICT at school.

Beside these activities, we were also  involved in cultural activities, for instance visits to the local museums where we learned how traditional houses were organized and saw many similarities between traditional houses in Lithuania and other countries involved in this project. In particular, we visited an open-air village museum in Anycsiai, where the houses resembled very much the Polish traditional wooden houses. There, we learned how traditional bread was baked and we had a chance to practise some outdoor activities.

The Lithuanian team organized a cooking workshop for us in which all the partners cooked traditional noodles which we later on ate and we danced traditional dances at the party our hosts organized at school. After that, we had fun together at a school disco which was attended by students and teachers from all 8 partner countries and host families.

We all participated in a documentary visit to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, and Trakai, a medieval castle, where we saw some outstanding historical and cultural sites and admired the beautiful architecture of the city. Here, too, we could notice similarities in architecture with cities from our countries. This is a proof that we are not so different, on the contrary, there are many similarities between our cultures.

We also saw the amazing Tree Top Walking Path and the largest stone in Lithuania called Pantukas.

We also had a dissemination session with local officials, the headmasters of the schools, teachers and librarians from local Lithuanian schools. On this occasion, the headmaster of the school presented us with the examples of Lithuanian campaigns for promoting readership and we also showed our presentation on readership in Poland, which met with a great enthusiasm.

On the last day  of our stay in Panevezys, we received the certificates of participation and our host school prepared a short performance which impressed everyone.

We appreciated very well the efforts our hosts made to organize such a varied and interesting program for the meeting in Lithuania and we all learned a lot about Lithuania and its warm-hearted and hospitable people.

We were leaving Lithuania with sadness as with great friends time passes by very quickly. Yet, we will keep our lovely memories with us and we will always come back to Lithuania with a great nostalgia.

Now we are looking forward to meeting again in Turkey next spring.

The 8th Meeting in Lithuania.  Impressions by Latvian team.

From the 19th February till 25th February we participated in Project Meeting in Lithuania with project coordinator Tatjana Revina and History teacher Natalia Dektereva.

It was a really exciting  experience and a push to improve our language and social skills. Also live communication with project partners and shared activities played a big role in the development of our project.

On the first day we arrived at school and were welcomed with live orchestra performance! We were impressed! Our host students showed us the school and we liked it a lot. The school is very nice, green and comfartable. The classroomas are clean, modern and well-equipped. All the students and teachers were very helpful and warm to us.

    On the same day we presented our “homework” – “Our life is active and interesting”. We were a bit nervous but everything went fine.

Then we worked in international groups, did different project activities led by Lithuanian students.

In the evening we went to a Welcome Party. We had a great time there and got to know each other better.

On Tuesday we visited some lessons and went on a guided tour to Anishkai. We visited Bread Museum, where we baked bread, ethnographic exposition (Horse Museum). 

Also we had a walk along Tree-Top Path. During this tour we learned a lot about the history and traditions.

We spent the evening with our host families and it was fun!

Wednesday was the most challenging day for us. We participated in the Debates about “Advantages and Disadvantages of using ICT at School”. We prepared some ideas at home, and we composed our speech at school. But anyway, it was rather difficult for us to  speak in front of an audience!

On Thursday we visited a wonderful Castle in Trakai and went to the capital of Lithuania – Vilnius. Vilnius is a beautiful city with many sights.

On Friday we showed what we had done in groups and evaluated our work. We got our certificates.

The week passed so quickly and it is time to say goodbye. It was such a sad moment for all of us!

We are very thanlful to our host families Ugne, Justine, Agne, Enrika and their parents for this unforgettable week!

The 7^th Meeting In France

   We conducted the 7th meeting of our project in France. The main aim of the Project was to improve the entrepreneurship and creativity skills of the students. During the meeting, students did lots of creative activities with their own international working groups. As Turkish team, we would like to thank to my friend Sarah, all France teachers, families and students for their hospitality.

IMPRESSIONS AFTER THE 7TH MEETING IN FRANCE

Our days in Paris featured a number of unforgettable moments and wonderful surprises. In fact, our impressions from Paris could be encompassed by this one word: surprising. Everything about the city is different than what an average Pole thinks it to be. We have been fed on numerous romantic movies and our imagination of this place is totally different than what we had really found.

First of all, it’s a big busy bustling city, very multicultural in most places, which can be good for some people looking for adventures, and disappointing for others who want to taste the real French culture. 

The architecture is simply stunning: amazing boulevards, wonderful buildings showing off the magnificent history of France, the ravishing decent cafe-bar-brasseries offering good food at reasonable prices, and the artisan patisseries with a delicious smell of the bread being baked. Yet, all this is contrasted with the image of street, homeless people and soldiers with guns in front of some great shops, boulevards, avenues, monuments or museums.

We never knew what we had in store for us and every corner and every experience was new. But there was one constant. There was one thing that became a beautiful ritual for us. Every evening we would arrive at our hotel, freshen up, and stroll to a new restaurant for a nice, and unquestionably French meal. It was the perfect way to end each day – by nestling in among the project people and soaking up the atmosphere while enjoying cuisine. By dinner’s end we weren’t ready to leave our corner table. We had fallen for the quaint and cozy atmosphere. We felt welcomed and appreciated by our sincere French hosts. The food was delightful to the point of being a high point of our trip. We walked out of the restaurants sharing smiles and full stomachs. 

During the day, our team was involved in a series of project activities at school. Our students could integrate and brush up their language skills. They could also learn how to be responsible and tolerant. They learned a lot about setting up a business, a writing process and urban farming. This was a very educational and surprising experience even for the teachers.

We would like to thank our French coordinator, Mrs Sarah El Bouh and the whole French team for the surprises they prepared for us and the warm atmosphere we all experienced during our week stay. We wish to come to Paris once again for yet more surprises.
