7th MEETING IN FRANCE

Impressions from Italian Team

Alice Tucci

I had a lot of fun during the meeting in Montrouge, from  28th November to 2nd December.
My host family was perfect. They were so kind, so nice, and they made me feel like I were at  home. I have to thank them for the beautiful week I spent at there.

The school was the biggest school I’ve ever seen.  Everybody in the school was so friendly, and lot of people were worried about me when I had my hand burned with hot tea. The students were so funny, the teachers and the employers were really nice and kind. There I met some lovely people which I had fun with.

I found the meetings with the entrepreneurs Laura Cooper and Philippe Leborgne interesting: they said lots of interesting things. I loved the meeting with Savita Kahlan: she was so nice and I loved when she talked about books and what they mean to her. I had such a great time that morning (except when I had myself burned with hot tea...).

I  have no  words to describe how beautiful Paris is: that city has a strange charm that makes you love everything: I was in love even with the street lights!
I enjoyed really much the guided tours around Paris and to Versailles. I discovered  lots of interesting things and finally I can say that I saw the Mona Lisa! In my opinion, the visit at the Louvre was the best visit we’ve had.  It was so exciting seeing Italian paintings in a museum like the Lovre and I felt proud of my Country when people stopped and have a look at the Italian Paintings.

 The last night was the best night we’ve had. It was my birthday, so everybody sang  ‘happy birthday to you’ in their own language! It was really touching. We danced, we ate a lot and we had fun.

I feel so grateful to this Project, and I really thank my teachers and the headmistress of my school, for making this happen.  I want to thank also my friends, because without them, the week would not have been the same.

Impressions positive:
-France is a beautiful capitol city;
-The french people are very kind and helpful;
-The school was very big;
-The food was good.
Impressions negative:
-The time for the workshop was not enough;
-The presentation of the Urban Farming was not arranged enough: some students could meke their presentations, others couldn't.
But, above all, we spent a wonderful time in France!!! Thanks!!!

Erasmus + is a cultural exchange among eight European countries and this time we went to France. My host family was very nice and kind to me, so I gave them some little presents.

 I liked the school: it was very clean and big. At first, I was very nervous, but after the first two days, I calmed down and tried to make myself understood in English and in the end it worked out pretty well.

On the first day a show welcomed us and I liked it. After that we did some physical activities. In the afternoon, we met Laura Cooper, who showed us some marketing strategies. This meeting was very interesting but a bit difficult to understand.

On the second day we visited the Latin District, and for me this was a very well planned trip, better than the one to the Louvre museum or the sightseen Tour of Paris we did on Thursday. Then, in the afternoon, we met Philippe Leborgne, a businessman.

On the third day we had a meeting with the writer Savita Kalhan. We asked her some questions, and then we had a workshop with students from other countries.

The last day we visited Versailles, and I really liked it. In the evening, we had the farewell party; which was very nice and fun. My partner’s parents cooked very well so I had no problem with French cuisine.

I liked this week very much but unfortunately, we could not finish our project. I thank my host family and the teachers who took us to France

I liked this Erasmus+ experience for different things.

My family guest was very kind, gentle and available. For example, they took to Sacré-Coeur and to Champs-élysées, they cooked a fantastic chocolate cake for me when I arrived and they gave me a nice black scarf for the cold weather in Paris. Their house was comfortable and clean and they tried to let me feel like it was my house.

The school called “Lycée Mauri2ce Genevoix” was huge and wonderful. We spent our school time in different meetings. My favourite one was the meeting with Savita Kahlan. We asked her several questions about her last book called “The Long Weekend” and about her life. Especially, we wanted to know how she became a writer. Then, we did a creative writing course about her story called “The Death of Princess”. It was very interesting.

I love Paris, it’s a fantastic city. We visited Notre Dame, Latin district, Louvre Museum (and we saw the famous picture of Gioconda!) and we even went on Tour Eiffel! From there I saw all Paris, it was beautiful!

The last day will be always in my heart. In the morning we went to Royal palace of Versailles. It was incredible, everything was made up with gold! In the evening we went to the farewell party. We danced a lot and we celebrated Alice’s birthday. The students sang her “Happy birtday” in eight different languages! At the end of the dinner we all were happy and sad at the same time. I didn’t want to leave!

The 7th Meeting in France.
Impressions by Latvian team.

From the 28th November till 2nd December we participated in Project Meeting in France with our school principle Jeļena Vucēna, project coordinator Tatjana Revina and History teacher Natalia Dektereva.
During the meeting we participated in several workshops led by French specialists in the field of entrepreneurship. For example, Laura Cooper, a Startup president, presented some marketing strategies. We discussed how to start a business in the EU, what are the risks and innovative ideas.
Then,  Philippe Leborgne, an innovative entrepreneur in Sustainable development,  talked about Urban Farms. It was something new for us. Also, we shared our ideas and experience about Urban Farming and allotment gardens in Latvia.

On Wednesday we had a meeting and Creative writing workshop with Savita Kalhan, a British Writer. First, the writer told us about her life and career, how she chooses the topics for her books.  We touched upon some other youth’s problems and issues. Then we worked in international groups and discussed the story “The Death of the Princess” which we had read previously.

Cultural visits were the most exciting and deepened our knowledge in history.
A visit to Louvre, Versailles and Eiffel Tower brought me the greatest delight.

A guided tour to Notre- Dane Cathedral caused reflections on history and life values.

 All project activities were held in English, which gave an opportunity for us to improve our English skills, get rid of "language barriers".
During the visit, the project participants also got acquainted with the experience of European integration.
However, the funniest event was a student party. We talked and danced together, ate meals prepared by French parents.

All in all, participation in this seminar widened our horizons and developed communication skills and set a good example of social integration and tolerance.

We are very thankful to Ines, Khadija, Thomas, Kiara and their parents for providing such a warm welcome for us. The memories of this trip will stay with us forever!
